Senior Management
Jesse Gary
PRESIDENT, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICE, AND DIRECTOR
Mr. Gary joined Century in 2010. Mr. Gary was promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel in February 2013 and to Chief Operating Officer in April 2019. Mr. Gary was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer July 1, 2021 and was appointed to the Board of Directors, effective as of the same date. Mr. Gary brings valuable leadership, risk-management, and strategy-development experience to the Company and the Board, along with a strong track record of driving growth and innovation and a passion for safety. Mr. Gary also has extensive knowledge of the aluminum industry and global markets and, as the only management representative on our Board, Mr. Gary provides a unique perspective in Board discussions about the business and strategic direction of the Company. The Board benefits from his business insights and knowledge of the Company and the markets it serves. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Gary practiced law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York. Mr. Gary received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and his J.D. from Cornell Law School.
John DeZee
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL COUNSEL AND SECRETARY
Mr. DeZee joined Century in 2008 as Associate General Counsel. After taking on roles of increasing responsibility, Mr. DeZee was promoted to Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in May 2021. Mr. DeZee started his legal career at Paul Hastings LLP in Los Angeles and served as in-house counsel at James Hardie Building Products prior to joining Century. Mr. DeZee received his B.A. from Whitman College and his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley Law School.
Gunnar Guðlaugsson
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL OPERATIONS AND MANAGING DIRECTOR OF NORDURAL
Mr. Guðlaugsson joined Century in 2008 and was appointed Plant Manager of Nordural Grundartangi ehf. in 2009 and Vice President, European and Asian Operations and Plant Manager, Nordural Grundartangi in 2017. Mr. Guðlaugsson was appointed Managing Director of Nordural in 2019 and Executive Vice President, Global Operations in 2021. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Guðlaugsson held a number of senior management positions with Rio Tinto Alcan in Straumsvik over a period of more than 10 years. Mr. Guðlaugsson holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Aalborg in Denmark.
Peter A. Trpkovski
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Mr. Trpkovski joined Century in 2013. Mr. Trpkovski was promoted to Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2019 and to Vice President, Finance and Investor Relations in 2022. Mr. Trpkovski was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer in 2023 and to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2025. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Trpkovski was in the role of Senior Financial Analyst at Citigroup and prior to that he spent six years at Johnson Controls in a variety of roles of Engineering and Finance. Mr. Trpkovski received his BSE (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and MBA from the University of Michigan.
Matthew F. Aboud
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, STRATEGY AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Mr. Aboud joined Century in May 2021 as Senior Vice President, Strategy & Business Development. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Aboud spent 18 years with Hydro Aluminum in a variety of roles, including his last role as Vice President – Extrusion Ingot & Wire Rod, where he oversaw both primary and secondary casthouse facilities throughout Europe and Vice President – Primary Metal North America, where he oversaw Hydro’s secondary casthouses and primary aluminum sales in the United States. He was a member of both the Board of Directors from 2016-2019 and the Executive Committee from 2018-2019 for the US Aluminum Association. Mr. Aboud received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his M.B.A. from Columbia University.
Kenneth L. Calloway
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES
Mr. Calloway joined Century in 2005 and has served in several roles, including most recently as Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Calloway is retired from the US Army Reserves where he was as a Drill Instructor and a Combat Advisor during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). He received a B.S. degree in Human Resource Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Bellevue University.
Levi Chaffin
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS, AMERICAS
Mr. Chaffin joined Century Aluminum in 2014 and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations, Americas in 2026. He previously served as Plant Manager of the Sebree facility and held roles including Director of North American Maintenance, Reliability and Capital Director and was promoted to Vice President in 2024. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Chaffin spent nearly 20 years at Alcoa, most recently as U.S. Regional Director of Reliability Excellence and Maintenance and Engineering Manager. He held a range of operational leadership roles across multiple sites. Mr. Chaffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Louisville and a Certificate of Management Excellence from Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Agust Hafberg
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Agust Hafberg has been with Century since 2007 and served in a variety of commercial and business development roles before being promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer in February 2019. Before joining Century, Mr. Hafberg held several management positions in shipping, logistics and consulting in Europe. Mr. Hafberg holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from University of Iceland.
Rob Hoffman
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER AND CHIEF ACCOUNTING OFFICER
Mr. Hoffman joined Century in October 2004 and was promoted to Corporate Controller in 2013 and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in May 2015. Mr. Hoffman was promoted to the role of Chief Information Officer in June 2017 and Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Chief Accounting Officer in 2021. In 2024, Mr. Hoffman led the integration effort at the Company’s bauxite mine and alumina refinery in Jamaica while continuing to serve as Chief Information Officer. Mr. Hoffman was promoted to the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Chief Accounting Officer in December 2024. Mr. Hoffman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Golden Gate University, a Master of Business in Finance from Saint Mary’s College of California and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Paul Daday
VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT AND FP&A
Mr. Daday joined Century in 2023 and was promoted to Vice President, Corporate Development and FP&A in 2026. He previously led strategic evaluation, M&A, and capital initiatives as Director of Corporate Development. Prior to Century, he spent over a decade within Citigroup’s investment bank advising metals, mining, and industrial clients on M&A and capital markets transactions. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Analyst at Fox Pitt Kelton Cochran Caronia Waller, focusing on valuation and transaction support. Mr. Daday holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics, as well as a Master of Education, from the University of Notre Dame
Henk De Coning
VICE PRESIDENT, SEBREE OPERATIONS
Mr. De Coning joined Century in 2017, and in 2026 he has been promoted to Vice President, Sebree Operations. He has since served in roles including Plant Manager at Sebree, Casthouse Manager at Sebree and Grundartangi. Prior to joining Century Aluminum, Mr. De Coning held senior operational roles with Alcoa and BHP, including plant leadership and regional operational excellence responsibilities across North America. Mr. De Coning holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pretoria and a diploma in Business Administration and Management from the University of South Africa.
Steinunn Dögg Steinsen
VICE PRESIDENT, HSE, SUSTAINABILITY AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Ms. Steinsen joined Century in 2011 as an Environmental Specialist and was promoted to HSEQ Manager in 2018 and Vice President of HSE, Sustainability and Management Systems in 2021. Prior to joining Century Ms. Steinsen worked as an engineer at Samskip Iceland. Ms. Steinsen received a B.S and Master’s in Chemical Engineering from The Technical University of Denmark.
Sarah Gohmann
VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL CONTROLLER
Ms. Gohmann joined Century in 2022. In 2026, she has been promoted to Vice President, Global Controller, after serving as Global Controller, Financial Controller for Norðurál, Assistant Corporate Controller, and Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting. Prior to joining Century, she spent more than seven years at Grant Thornton LLP, where she advanced to Audit Manager. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of Missouri and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Ross Hardy
VICE PRESIDENT, PROCUREMENT, AMERICAS
Mr. Hardy joined Century in 2008. In 2026, he has been promoted to Vice President, Procurement, Americas. Previously, Mr. Hardy served as Senior Procurement Manager, Americas. He currently leads procurement activities across the Americas and plays a key role in supporting operational continuity and cost discipline. Mr. Hardy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Western Kentucky University and is certified in Lean Six Sigma and Leadership.
Sigrún Helgadóttir
VICE PRESIDENT, GRUNDARTANGI OPERATIONS
Ms. Helgadóttir joined Century in 2012. In 2026, she has been promoted to Vice President, Grundartangi Operations. Prior to this role, she served as Plant Manager at Grundartangi, and led HR and Procurement for the site. Before joining Century Aluminum, Ms. Helgadóttir held senior leadership roles across finance and capital markets, including CFO and COO positions within Kaupthing Group and leadership roles at the Iceland Stock Exchange. Ms. Helgadóttir holds an MBA from BI Norwegian School of Management and a degree in business economics from the University of Iceland.
Gauti Höskuldsson
VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL OPERATIONS
Mr. Höskuldsson joined Norðurál in 1999, prior to Century’s acquisition in 2004. Mr. Höskuldsson has served in several managerial roles, including a promotion in 2009 to Director of Rodding and Potrooms. Mr. Höskuldsson was promoted to Vice President, Global Operations in 2021. Mr. Höskuldsson received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Iceland, a Master’s from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, and a Graduate Diploma in Aluminum Smelting Technology from The University of New South Wales.
Jeff Mahoney
VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE, AMERICAS
Mr. Mahoney joined Century in 2017. In 2026, he has been promoted to Vice President, Finance, Americas. Mr. Mahoney has led financial oversight across the region, strengthening internal controls, reporting, and operational discipline. Prior to joining Century Aluminum, Mr. Mahoney spent nearly two decades at Alcoa in various controller roles. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brescia University and a Master of Business Administration from Murray State University.
Robert Quak
VICE PRESIDENT, MT. HOLLY OPERATIONS
Mr. Quak joined Century in 2013. In 2026, he has been promoted to Vice President, Mt. Holly Operations. Mr. Quak previously served as Plant Manager at Mt. Holly. Prior to joining Century Aluminum, Mr. Quak held leadership positions at both Styron Corporate, now Trinseo, and Dow Chemical. Mr. Quak holds a Master’s degree in Mining and Petroleum Engineering from Delft University of Technology, an MBA from Open University, with a minor in Economics and Business Administration.
Chad Rigg
VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE AND TREASURER
Mr. Rigg joined Century in 2018. In 2026, he was promoted to Vice President, Finance and Treasurer. Previously, Mr. Rigg served as Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Finance Manager, and Operations Finance Manager. Earlier in his tenure, Chad served as a Financial Analyst. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Rigg held Senior Financial Analyst and Corporate Development and M&A roles at Navistar Inc. Mr. Rigg holds a degree in Finance and Economics from Butler University.
Jill Switzer
VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE HUMAN RESOURCES
Ms. Switzer joined Century in 2011. In 2026, she has been promoted to Vice President, Corporate Human Resources after serving as Corporate Director of Human Resources. During that time, she has progressed through roles across payroll, accounting, HRIS, compensation, benefits, and shared services. Ms. Switzer holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Kentucky Wesleyan College.
